Ohio civil rights and social justice organizations There are 513 civil rights and advocacy organizations in Ohio. Combined, these Ohioan civil rights and social justice organizations employ 1,169 people, earn more than $138 million in revenue each year, and have assets of $158 million.

The Ohio Justice Policy Center. OJPC’s mission is to create fair, intelligent, redemptive criminal-justice systems through zealous client-centered advocacy, innovative policy reform, and cross-sector community education.

Sierra Club Ohio has started this team to support and deepen an Environmental and Social Justice (ESJ) movement in our Ohio spaces. This is a newer committee dedicated to creating inclusive environments with a broad spectrum of people. Environmental and Social Justice connects to all we do within the Sierra Club, and the focus of this committee is to help cultivate the transformation of Sierra Club Ohio by embedding Environmental and Social Justice Principles across the state.

Ohio Federation for Health Equity and Social Justice We are a non-profit organization focused on advocating for equity in health and social justice for minority and multicultural populations in Ohio. Our primary goal is to create equity and eliminate disparities that impact these communities.

The Ohio State Bar Foundation. Since launching in 2020 the Racial Justice Initiative has provided $1 million in grant funding to support projects focused on long-lasting impact and institutional change for racial justice. The specific focus of the Racial Justice Initiative is to support projects that specifically identify, address, and challenge systemic racism centered on any race or ethnicity which hinders the pursuit of justice and public understanding of the rule of law for historically marginalized communities of color in Ohio.
