First UU of Toledo.

MFC’s most important current outreach project is MultiFaith GROWs, a partner of Toledo GROWs, which encourages and supports community gardens sponsored by faith groups.  MultiFaith GROWs is aligned with many of the values and goals of our Green Sanctuary program, as well as those of the Social Justice Committee.  http://gardens.multifaithjourners.org.

First UU Columbus:

“We operate on simple principles: every person deserves dignity, food to eat and the right to literacy. First UU’s Food (In)security Focus Group Chief drives to rural Appalachian Athens County every Monday to deliver food to fight hunger, and books to fight illiteracy for more than 15 years.”

UU Church of Kent

Some of the activities of the Hunger and Economic Justice Task Group include supporting local agencies that work to reduce hunger including Kent Social Services, the Center of Hope and the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank. We have also supported organizations that work to help people struggling with the challenges of poverty including local homeless shelters Miller House and Freedom House and Empower Portage.
