Greetings Esteemed Colleagues,
We want to thank you for attending the Faith in the Field Clergy Summit for Community Violence Prevention in Pittsburgh on April 1-3. We heard from some great experts in this work, provided insights on how you might organize your own efforts, and learned a lot from each other. Remember that attending this conference was just the beginning. You now have a workbook filled with ideas to pursue with accountability partners back home (or with those you met in the conference). To support you further in this work, we wanted to provide you with a few key resources.
First, if you haven’t done so already, please complete the survey for our event by clicking here so we can continue to improve the support we provide. Once we receive your survey response, we will send you a copy of the presentations used throughout our time together.
Next, make sure you are a member of Clergy for Safe Cities. Being a member allows you to get support for initiatives in your area, attend events and trainings, access mentors and others who are progressing in this work, and more. Click here to become a member.
In case you want to share the resources we provided in the event itself, we’ve attached them here below:
Clergy-Led Gun Violence Prevention Starter Kit
67th Precinct Clergy Council Protocol Guide – The GodSquad shares its best practices in how to respond to an incident when it occurs.
Connect with faith leaders in your community and across the country by adding your church or organization to the Faith Action Map! The map is also a great place to share and discover upcoming events and activities. Visit faithactionmap.org or reach out to Rev. Hope Christensen for more information.
Finally, please keep in mind our upcoming events to continue to advance this work:
Albany FLASH Summit – Register Here
Clergy for Safe Cities Quarterly Forum – Register Here
May 13th, 2pm – 3pm
August 12th, 2pm – 3pm
December 9th, 2pm – 3pm
As we are advancing the national clergy-led movement to prevent gun and community violence, it is important that we continue to grow by getting the word out to other clergy in your community, to nonprofit partners, and to those who, like us, want to be an instrumental part of the solution. So ask others to join CSC and let us know how we can continue to support you in your local efforts.
Peace and Blessings for Safer Communities!
